My areas of focus for my research practice center around the Muslim-American experience through the lens of Fashion.
My work explores our identity and stories, as informed by culture and heritage and as expressed through Dress and Style.
I have been recognized by the World Learning Organization for my multidisciplinary, interactive workshops aimed at amplifying marginalized voices. Read my published article and reach out for more information or for collaboration proposals.
EDUCATION+PEDAGOGY
As a professor, teaching artist and community educator with over 20+ years of experience, my areas of expertise lie at the intersection of community, inclusion, representation, with a focus on identity and narrative. I've taught at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute and have served as course coordinator and curriculum committee advisor. I have presented and spoken on Panels and Forums with a focus on pedagogy and best practices for educators and students.
